Special Ed The academic program at Greenburgh Academy (GA) prepares students for Regents Diplomas s a result or a local diploma with an opportunity to achieve an additional career development credential through exposure to the CDOS Curriculum. The New York State Learning Standards in the seven content areas guide the GA curriculum. As a result, students are prepared to successfully pass the Regents examinations. Academic Intervention Services (AIS) are offered to improve reading and math skills as well as a means of providing needed preparation for NYS Regents examinations. All classes across curriculum areas have eight students, one teacher and one teacher assistant (8:1:1).

Several opportunities are offered students to earn college credit as part of their education program at GA. GA has an articulation agreement with Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry. A three college credit course is offered at GA that follows the Mercy College curriculum. This semester an economics course is offered. Upon successful completion of a course, a Mercy College transcript is provided to students. Many GA students participate in the College Now Prep Program that is sponsored by City University of New York (CUNY) that prepares students for the rigors of college life. Students learn about the academic and social demands and the many responsibilities associated with college life.

GA is committed to preparing students for post-secondary placements that include college, vocational training, armed services, and/or employment. A variety of vocational training opportunities are available at GA including a one-semester Customer Service program. The program is for students earning either a Local Diploma or IEP Diploma. The customer service curriculum is implemented in both the classroom and community. The focus of the program is to prepare students for the many career opportunities related to customer service.
