My name is Gyanna Santana, I am part of the Greenburgh Academy Graduating Class of 2014! My time at GA played a role in the trajectory of what I'm choosing to do with my life. Spending four years in alternative education certainly allowed me to develop my social, emotional, and professional skills.

During my time at GA I played volleyball, was on the track and field, and cheer leading team. I had amazing opportunities to be a part of all thanks to our dedicated staff. I attended the International Trip to Panama, went on countless Broadway plays. More importantly I received guidance and wisdom and from these staff members.

Post-graduation I attended Nyack College as a HEOP and Access-VR student. I decided to major in Nursing and as many students will learn, your major almost always never remains the same and that's okay. I am working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Social Work and Intercultural Studies. This past year I decided I really needed to take a break and I am currently working at our very own Clark Academy as a Teacher's Aide. Once I complete my Bachelor’s degree I will hopefully, continue and get my Masters in Social Work. I am extremely passionate about working with at-risk youth, students with special needs and my goal is to ultimately come back and become a clinician within the GNC district.
